Our Safer Neighbourhood Team for Highley discovered a vehicle that was hoping a quick identity change might do the trick. Unfortunately for the driver, false number plates don’t make a vehicle invisible — and officers spotted them straight away.
Vehicle crime is a parish priority for Highley, and vehicles using cloned or false plates are often linked to theft, burglary and drug supply. This vehicle has now been removed from the road, helping to prevent further crime.
This work supports the NPCC Vehicle Crime campaign, focused on disrupting the criminal use of vehicles and keeping communities safe.
